Bernardsville Borough Council Fills Temporary Seat

The position was left open by the resignation of councilman Thomas O'Dea Jr.​, effective June 30.

BERNARDSVILLE, NJ — The Bernardsville Borough Council appointed democrat Matt Marino to fill a temporary vacancy.

The position was left open by the resignation of councilman Thomas O'Dea Jr., effective on June 30.

The Borough Council came to the decision during a meeting held on Monday.

Three democratic candidates were considered, including also Christina Dalas and Mariel O'Brien. They were selected by the Democratic Municipal Committee.

During the meeting, the council gave each candidate the opportunity to provide details about their background and answer questions.

Marino will serve on the council until a new council member is elected for the unexpired term in the general November election. An additional line will be added to the ballot to fill this position.
