Car Left Running With Keys Inside Stolen In Bernardsville
The Bernardsville Police is encouraging all residents to practice common crime prevention measures to prevent incidents like this.
BERNARDSVILLE, NJ — A car left running with the keys inside was stolen in Bernardsville on Wednesday morning, said police.
On Dec. 13 at around 7:15 a.m., a resident of Fox Hollow Trail reported to the Bernardsville Police Department that their 2017 BMW X1 valued at $25,000 had been stolen.
At the time of the theft, the BMW was reportedly parked in the driveway of the residence running with the keys inside the vehicle, according to the victim.

Security footage provided to the police confirmed someone got out of a newer model white Jeep, entered the BMW, and left the area.
"The Bernardsville Police Department encourages all residents to practice common crime prevention measures to prevent incidents like this from occurring. It is important to lock
vehicles and secure the keys in a secure place to prevent them from being stolen," said police.

The Police Department encourages residents to report any suspicious activity, persons or vehicles
immediately to the Police Department.
Police will need a description of the activity observed, the location and a description of any people or vehicles involved in the activity you report.
This incident remains under investigation by the Bernardsville Police Department Detective Bureau.
