Municipal Buildings Closed for Presidents Day

It's Monday, the start of another work-week, the end of the weekend, and that can only mean one thing—it's time to look ahead to the week at hand.

It's going to be busy in Bernardsville and Bedminster, and we've got your list of things to look out for, from meetings to school activities and everything in between.

While Bernardsville Borough Hall is scheduled to be closed Monday for the Presidents Day Holiday, the Somerset Hills School District will be open to make up for one of the scheduled school days lost last fall to Superstorm Sandy.

Students in the Somerset Hills district also attended school Friday, Feb. 15, as another previously scheduled school holiday that was canceled because of the nearly two-week absence following the Oct. 29 storm.

Bedminster is in a similar situation, with the municipal building on Miller Lane closed for the holiday, while students at the Bedminster Township School will be attending to make up for a lost day.

Meetings this week are:

• Bernardsville Public Library Board of Trustees will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at borough hall on Mine Brook Road in Bernardsville.
• Because the building is closed Monday, the Bedminster Township Committee will hold a regular meeting and budget discussion at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the municipal building on Miller Lane in Bedminster.
• The Bernardsville Recreation Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, at borough hall on Mine Brook Road.
• The Bedminster Recreation Committee will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the municipal building on Miller Lane.
• The Somerset Hills School Board of Education is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the community meeting room at Bernards High School on Olcott Avenue.
• The Bedminster Historic Preservation Commission will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the municipal building on Miller Lane.
• The Bernardsville Planning Board Alternate Meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in borough hall on Mine Brook Road.
• The Bedminster Township School Board will hold a meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Bedminster Township School on Somerville Road.
• The seventh and eighth grade students will have a dance at 7 p.m. Friday at Bedminster Township School.
