Poor Communication, Lack of Leadership Cited for Bedminster School Woes

Members of the community expressed concern about the district at recent board of education meeting.

Poor communication and a lack of leadership has led to a number of problems for the start of the new school year in Bedminster, according to parents who spoke at a recent board of education meeting.

Community members discussed of a number of issues, such as confusion about the elimination of recess periods and teacher assignments, that accompanied a "completely disorganized" opening at the Sept. 19 meeting, as reported by The Bernardsville News.

Acting Superintendent Ronald Bolandi, who came to the district last spring, said at the meeting that he had posted a 36-page action plan on the district's web site outlining a new teacher evaluation system and method for reviewing and reporting on student test scores.

The board's next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m.
