Tiferet Journal Poets to Appear at Bernardsville Public Library

Eight NJ poets whose work has appeared in Tiferet Journal will read their work, followed by an open mic and reception.

Celebrating the sharing spirit of National Poetry Month and continuing a popular poetry series, eight New Jersey poets whose work has appeared in Tiferet Journal will read from the publication and their other works on Saturday, April 22 at 2:00 pm at Bernardsville Public Library. An open mic reading and a reception with light refreshments will follow the featured readers.

“Tiferet Journal is dedicated to promoting tolerance through literature and art, an especially important task these days," said Donna Baier Stein, a Bernardsville resident who founded the quarterly Journal in 2005. "We are especially happy to share the works of these wonderful New Jersey poets, all of whom have been published in Tiferet, with the Bernardsville Library audience.”

Guest poets will be Cat Doty (Boonton), Adele Kenny (Fanwood), Nancy Lubarsky (Cranford), John McDermott (Cranford), Priscilla Orr (Hamburg), Tom Plante (Fanwood), Bob Rosenbloom (Bound Brook), and Donna Baier Stein (Bernardsville).

The Academy of American Poets established April as National Poetry Month in 1996. According to poets.org, the goal is “to widen the attention of individuals and the media to the art of poetry, to living poets, to our complex poetic heritage, and to poetry books and journals of wide aesthetic range and concern.”
There is no charge to attend the program, and no sign-up is needed. For further information call the Library at 908-766-0118.
