Bedminster to Choose New Committee Member
3 candidates to be interviewed Monday night to replace Katy Rupert.

The Bedminster Township Committee will hold interviews of three candidates submitted by the Republican Municipal Committee to replace Katy Rupert, who resigned last week.
The interviews will be held at Monday's township committee meeting, at 7 p.m. in the municipal building on Miller Lane.
Rupert officially resigned from the township committee Feb. 26.

Rupert, in a letter to the administration, said she has been diagnosed with a form of rheumatoid arthritis, called multicentric reticulohistio cytosis. This form, Rupert said, could have a significant chance of developing into cancer.
"Over the foreseeable future, I will have numerous appointments, hospital stays and testing done, which I believe will impede my ability to attend meetings and fully execute the duties of my office," she wrote in the letter. "It is in the best interest of the township that I stand down at this time."

As per state law, the Republican Committee has submitted three people for consideration to replace Rupert.
Those in consideration are Brian Fahey, of Rattlesnake Bridge Road; Sean Blinn, of Encampment Drive; and Staci Santucci, of Airport Road.
The committee could choose a replacement at the meeting. If the four members cannot come to an agreement, the Republican Municipal Committee will have 15 days to choose one of the three candidates.
