Mr. Paul R. Kossack, 84, of Bloomfield, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. There will be a funeral service held at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Tuesday, May 14, at 10:00 a.m. The interment will be at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union with Military Honors. Visitation will be on Monday, May 13 from 4:00 –8:00 p.m.
Paul was born in New York City and moved to Newark at the age of four. He was a graduate of East Side High School. He worked for N.J. Tabacco Company before honorably serving in the Army for two years during the Korean War. Paul joined the Bloomfield Police Dept. in 1956 and for many years served as the State Delegate for Bloomfield PBA, Local #32. He was a loyal member of the department for 27 years. He retired in 1983 and went to work at J.H. Cohn Accounting Firm for 11 years. Paul resided in Bloomfield for the past 56 years.
Paul enjoyed trips to Atlantic City with his dear close friends and was a diehard Giants fan. He especially enjoyed time spent with his grandsons Joseph and Michael.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Eileen (nee Keenan) Kossack; his beloved daughter Karen Ingrassia and her husband David; and his loving grandsons Joseph and Michael.
Paul is predeceased by his loving son David Kossack.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the Bloomfield Volunteer Emergency Squad, Municipal Building, 1 Municipal Plaza, Bloomfield, NJ 07003 would be greatly appreciated.
