The Bloomfield Bengal Special Olympic team recently competed at the State games held at the College of NJ in Ewing. Bloomfield sent 45 athletes. Softball finished undefeated and won the Gold Medal. Standouts for Bloomfield included Derrick Noble at first base, Delon Noble behind the plate, Julie Velez in right field and Janahia Thomas at short stop. The 16 athletes on the track team consisted put forth their best effort. David DeLeon and Antonio Reyes competed in their first State Games. Bloomfield fielded five Bocce Ball Teams and all distinguished themselves earning Two Golds, Two Silvers and a Bronze Medal.
