Bloomfield Resident Named Christie's North Jersey Hispanic Chairman
Bloomfield GOP leader will head regional outreach to Hispanic voters.

The Christie Campaign announced Bloomfield GOP Chairman Luis M. Linares as its North Jersey Hispanic chairman. Linares was in attendance Thursday, July 18, when the governor opened his North Jersey/Hispanic Outreach Center in Paterson.
Linares has been Bloomfield GOP chairman for more than five years, winning a second four-year term in June, 2012.
Linares was born in Spain to Cuban born parents and came to the United States when he was less than a year old and speaks both English and Spanish fluently. Linares, a lifelong Republican, said that Hispanics have the same values as all Americans and can find a comfortable home in the Republican Party.
“Hispanics are Republican in the way they live their lives and raise their children," Linares said in an email. "They believe strongly in family values - the same values that are often belittled by those who are part of the Democratic machine. Most Hispanics work hard and dream of some day opening a business."
He said that not only will the Republican Party be moving forward with a statewide effort for the Hispanic vote, but will also make a concentrated effort in Bloomfield.
