L&J Subs Celebrates 40th Anniversary

Essex County Freeholders recognizes longtime family business in Bloomfield

The Essex County Freeholders recently honored one of the owners of Lenny & John’s Subs, recognizing the 40th anniversary of the Bloomfield Avenue business.

Bobby Antinozzi, son of Leonard Antiozzi, Sr., who established the business with partner John Maselli back in 1971, was presented with a commendation by the freeholders.

The business is currently operated by Leonard Antinozzi, Jr., and Robert Antinozzi, the sons of the business’ founder. The pair hosted a 40th anniversary party at the shop, located at 161 Bloomfield Ave., on June 25.

Lenny & John’s Subs maintains the original menu from the day they opened back in 1971 – with the tuna sub still a customer favorite. The business has also expanded to offer catering.
