Man Assaulted, Robbed Near Watsessing Train Station
39-year-old Bloomfield resident was punched and knocked to the ground during Tuesday morning attack.

A 39-year-old man Bloomfield man was assaulted and robbed while walking to the Watsessing Train Station Tuesday morning, police said.
Bloomfield police responded to a robbery report by Willow Street and John F. Kennedy Drive found a man who said he’d be robbed and attacked on his way to work at about 7 a.m.
The victim said two men approached him when he turned the corner. One of the thieves punched and knocked him to the ground, police said. The victim believes the men tried to take a bag he was carrying that only contained his lunch, police said.

When he yelled for help, the two men ran to a white four-door SUV parked on John F Kennedy Drive and drove toward Bloomfield Avenue.
The victim was brought to a hospital for treatment of an eye injury.
