Anthony’s Cheesecake Holds Oklahoma Benefit

Footage of the storm wreckage in Oklahoma moved Philip Byrne to want to help. The co-owner of Bloomfield’s Anthony’s Cheesecakes organized a fundraiser through the Washington Street restaurant where 50 percent of sales on Friday were donated to the American Red Cross to aid victims of the Tornado.

Bloomfield High School senior Mike Carter now has the most career hits of any BHS player in the baseball program's 100-year plus history. Carter had multiple at-bats in Bloomfield's 15-7 routing of Somerville this week, including a two run single and the sixth inning single that marked his 151st hit in his high school career.

An East Orange man was arrested Monday night in connection with a Bloomfield carjacking that led to a multi-town police chase before ending in West Orange.

Most Endangered N.J. Places List Includes Bloomfield Historic Home

Properties classified as the "most endangered" have architectural and historic integrity with an identified threat. Preservation New Jersey, the organization that compiled the list, felt their inclusion could potentially help legislators realize the importance in preserving them. Included on the list is the 18th century Collins House in Bloomfield, which has ties to the founders of the town.

A Bloomfield teen pepper-sprayed a woman during a road rage incident, police said. According to Bloomfield Police, a 51-year-old female township resident reported on May 14 to Officer Mark Moskal at police headquarters that she was pepper sprayed after taking evasive actions following getting cut off earlier that morning at 8:45 a.m.
