Three Bloomfield Students Honored for Historical Essays
Students will be featured in Monday night ceremony.

Three Bloomfield students in grades 5 through 8 have won awards for historical essays.
The American History Essay Contest was sponsored by the Daughters of the American Revolution and asked elementary school students to write on a selected topic related to the legacy of the United States.
DAR judges reviewed the essays for historical accuracy, adherence to the topic, organization of materials and other criteria.

The three Bloomfield winners among the NJ winning essays will go onto the regional review. They will be recognized at a ceremony at the Bloomfield Civic Center at 7:30 pm. Family and friends are welcome to attend.

NJ State Fifth Grade:
- 1st Place to Gariel Marchany of Fairview School
NJ State Sixth Grade:
- 3rd place to Katherine Heyman of Oak View School
NJ State Eighth Grade:
- Honorable Mention to Grace-Anna Douglas of Bloomfield Middle School

Fifth Grade
- 1st place: Gabriel Marchany Fairview School
- 2nd place: Benjamin Douglas Demarest School
- 3rd place: Nicholas Pentz Fairview School
Honorable Mention: Amanda Abdelaziz Franklin School
Sixth Grade
- 1st place: Katherine Heyman Oak View School
- 2nd place: Callie Natiello Brookdale v
- 3rd place: Da-xia Li Colon Berkeley School
- Honorable Mention: John Josephsen Demarest School
Eighth Grade
- 1st place: Grace-Anna Douglas Bloomfield Middle School
- 2nd place: Jessica Ryan Bloomfield Middle School
