Brick Woman Indicted on Cop Assault Charge
Ocean County grand jurors hand up indictments

A Brick woman was indicted last week on charges of assaulting an officer who was trying to arrest her.
Stacey J. Theibault of Jason Place was indicted by an Ocean County grand jury on three criminal charges in connection with her arrest on drug possession May 26.
Theibault resisted Brick Patrolman Brian Ulman's attempts to arrest her for possessing zopiclone, a prescription drug, by assaulting the officer, the indictment states.

Theibault was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled dangerous substance, all third-degree crimes.
She was initially held on $25,000 bail but posted on the day of her arrest.

Grand jurors also indicted:
- Marlena A. Buchanan of Irvington on charges of trying to con into filling a prescription for roxicodone.
The indictment states Buchanan presented a forged prescription blank for the drug on June 2. Grand jurors upheld charges of attempting to obtain a controlled, dangerous substance by fraud and uttering a forged instrument.
Buchanan was initially held on $25,000 bail, which was posted June 12.
- Russell A. Bailey Jr. of Point Pleasant Borough on a drug possession charge for allegedly possessing heroin July 7 in Brick.
Bailey was released on a summons.
- Jerome Hofmann of Brick for allegedly illegally possessing a weapon.
Hofmann had previously been convicted of death by auto, the indictment states, and as such was prohibited from owning firearms. However, Brick police arrested Hofmann May 18 on charges of owning "multiple firearms."
