Celebrate Good Deeds, Good People At Brick Hero Awards

The celebration of Brick Township residents highlights everyday people doing things to improve the community.

BRICK, NJ — Come out Friday night and celebrate good deeds and good people in Brick Township at the annual Brick Hero Awards.

The awards honor residents and businesses that put forward significant effort to make Brick Township a better place.

The event, hosted by the Mayor’s Student Advisory Committee begins at 7 p.m. Friday, March 8, in the auditorium at Brick Township High School, 346 Chambers Bridge Road. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students and seniors and the proceeds benefit the Mayor’s Student Advisory Committee and the Lounge 270 Teen Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The event will include performances by the Brick Township High School choir and drama club, the Brick Memorial High School choir and drama club, and the Brick Dance Team.

"It's our everyday heroes that really make the difference in our community," Mayor Lisa Crate said. "People looking out for each other and caring for one another is just one of the many things that makes Brick Township so special."

The Mayor’s Student Advisory Committee is comprised of students from Brick Township and Brick Memorial high schools and was created to give young people a greater voice in the Brick Township community.

"The mission of (the committee) is to empower the youth of our community to be more civic-minded and the leaders of today," the township says.
