Death In Midstreams Home Ruled Natural Causes: Brick Police Chief

BRICK, NJ — The death of a person in a home on Midstreams Road on Aug. 22 has been ruled as due to natural causes, authorities announced Tuesday.

Brick Township Police Chief David Forrester issued a statement published on the police department's Facebook page about the investigation into the death, saying the situation was a medical incident.

The statement reads:

"Chief David Forrester would like to address and clarify the misinformation circulating in the community regarding a medical incident that occurred in the Midstream’s neighborhood on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at approximately 3 PM.

"After a thorough investigation conducted jointly with our partners at the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigations Division and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, it has been determined that the incident was a natural medical event. Any other allegations about this incident are false. At no time were residents in danger.

"The Brick Township Police Department is committed to reporting accurate information once a full investigation is completed."

Patch had reported the incident as a slaying based on a reply from the prosecutor's office to an email on Aug. 23 asking if there had been a killing at the home. The response said there was an active and ongoing investigation. Previous report: Slaying Investigation Underway In Brick
