1. Man Arrested In String Of Vehicle Burglaries, Brick Police Say (patch.com) — Residents in Brick’s southern neighborhoods helped police identify a suspect in a recent string of vehicle break-ins near Mantoloking Road and Drum Point Road. A 38-year-old Brick man was arrested after officers used patrol work and surveillance footage to close the cases. Police are urging Brick residents to lock their cars and keep valuables out of sight to prevent future thefts.
   

2. Brick Zoning Denial Overturned For Single-Family Home (patch.com) — A Superior Court judge has overturned Brick Township’s zoning board denial of a proposed single-family home on an undersized, oddly shaped lot at Pennsylvania and Illinois avenues. The judge called the board’s 2024 rejection arbitrary and unreasonable, ordering the project to move forward with agreed conditions and driveway adjustments. The case followed a lawsuit that also highlighted neighbors’ contentious comments at the hearing.
   

3. Brick Senior Center Reopens Tuesday, Township Announces (shorebeat.com) — Brick’s Senior Center on Aurora Place is reopening Tuesday, restoring all Senior Services programs to their usual location after emergency construction work. The renovated former volunteer EMS hall now primarily houses the center while also accommodating Brick Police EMS-Rescue ambulances. Township officials are thanking residents for their patience and inviting seniors back to regular activities.

Hear Tales of Holocaust Survival at the Ocean County Library's Brick Branch (newjerseystage.com) — Brick residents are invited to a free Holocaust Remembrance Day program at the Ocean County Library’s Brick Branch on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. Speaker Amy Goodman will share her grandfather Joseph’s powerful survival story, and registration is required online, by phone, or in person at the Chambers Bridge Road branch.
   

5. Toms River North rides middleweights' effort to win over Brick Memorial (nj.com subscription) — Brick Memorial’s home crowd saw Toms River North storm back for a 38-27 wrestling win in Brick, powered by dominant middleweight performances from 138 to 165 pounds. Pins by Jacob Nash and Josh Cauldwell flipped a late deficit, with strong finishes from Jared Cauldwell, John Yannariello, and Dominic Capra sealing the dual.
