'He Is Always Helping Others': Marco, Brick Star Student
We all know students who excel in academics, fine arts or volunteer service. Here's one local resident who is having an impact in Brick.

BRICK, NJ — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission comes from Yordania Cortiñas, who nominated her son, Marco, of Brick.
Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
Marco is not only in 7th-grade advanced math, but also he is always helping other students to succeed. On a daily basis he is engaged with his peers making sure they understand the material and explains it to them with patience. He has a nurturing and loving character. At home Marco is worried about having everyone together at the table, he shares equally. Marco is a shining star because his heart is caring, full of kindness.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?
Marco is involved with music; he plays the B flat tenor saxophone, and is teaching a friend to learn how to play it as well. He loves nature, going fishing and spending time with his siblings. Marco has two dogs and one cat.
Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Marco!
