How Would Brick Spend The $1.5 Billion Powerball Jackpot?

The drawing for the largest Powerball ever happens tomorrow, January 13. Find out how our readers said they would spend their winnings.

While the odds of winning the largest Powerball jackpot ever are beyond slim to none, Patch still encourages our readers to dream.

Several $1 million prizes have been claimed so far, but the $1.5 billion grand prize continues to grow accruing $2 million more since Monday.

According to the official Powerball website, players must match all five white balls (in no order) and the red Powerball in order to claim it all. The winning numbers will be pulled Wednesday, January 13 at 10:59 p.m. If you’re thinking of playing, tickets sales cut off 59 minutes before the drawing.

We asked our readers on Facebook how they would give back to Brick if they struck gold. Here’s what your neighbors said:

  • “I would give a huge donation to the animal shelter so they can expand and make it a no kill shelter.”
  • “Take care of our seniors so they have a Better quality of life....they paid their dues, now it’s their turn...housekeepers, limos to appointments, whatever would make their lives better.”
  • “Build a municipal pool on the old Foodtown site and make it free to Brick residents.”
  • “Widen the roads to accommodate all the traffic”
  • “I would give money to the schools for any updating that’s needed! Have a teacher aid in each classroom.
    Help rebuild any homes that are not still completed from Sandy.”
