Public Comment Sought As Brick Police Seek Reaccreditation

BRICK, NJ — The Brick Township Police Department is undergoing assessment as it seeks accreditation through the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police, and that assessment that includes an opportunity for the public to comment.

Telephone comments will be accepted from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 30, as part of the on-site assessment for accreditation, which the Brick Township Police Department is seeking for the fourth time in a row.

To achieve accreditation, agencies have to verify they meet recognized professional best practices standards in five basic areas: the administrative function, the personnel function, the operations function, the investigative function, and the arrestee/detainee function.

Agency employees and the public can comment by calling 732-262-1107 on Sept. 30; comments are limited to 5 minutes and must address the department's ability to meet the standards.

Comments must address the ability of the Brick Township Police Department to meet the NJSACOP standards.
