Royal Farms Sets Grand Opening In Brick At Last, Company Confirms
The convenience store known for its fried chicken has a grand opening date, company officials confirmed.

BRICK, NJ — Four years after the Brick Township Board of Adjustment approved the application, Royal Farms is poised to hold its grand opening at last, company officials confirmed Wednesday evening.
The store is set to welcome customers on Dec. 8 with a celebration, said Shelby Kemp, of the Royal Farms marketing department.
In September the company announced it was holding hiring events and that it would open soon. But lengthy delays, including after announcing a grand opening last December, have led to speculation about whether the store will actually open.

The company received approval for its plan to build the store at 1756 Route 88, on the former Jersey Paddler property, from the Brick zoning board in September 2018.
Construction, which was hampered by the coronavirus pandemic, appeared to have been completed in late 2021.

The building has sat mostly quiet since then, with no real word from the company, but plenty of speculation both about opening dates and that it would never open, similar to the fate of the Corrado's Market that was slated to fill part of the former Pathmark space at the Laurel Square Shopping Center. Corrado's was evicted from the space in June, just weeks after saying it would have its grand opening July 4.
