SummerFest Concert Canceled In Brick; See The New Schedule

The continuing threat of storms has prompted the cancellation.

BRICK, NJ — The continuing threat of summer storms has prompted Brick Township officials to cancel the SummerFest concert scheduled for Thursday.

The National Weather Service forecast calls for a 70 percent chance of rain on Thursday, including the possibility of thunderstorms, particularly after 4 p.m.

"Due to the forecast of inclement weather throughout the day and evening, tonight’s SummerFest concert featuring The Brit Pack has been canceled," Brick officials said. "The safety of our attendees, performers and staff is our top priority and we believe this is the most responsible decision."

Thursday, July 17: Suit & Mai Tai. This "yacht rock" band is another newcomer to Brick's SummerFest and plays a mix of favorites from the 1970s and '80s.

Thursday, July 24: Aftershock. Also new to the SummerFest lineup, this band has a wide repertoire of music from Frankie Valli to Dua Lipa and many more styles in between.

Each concert will be followed by fireworks, weather permitting.

Free shuttle buses to and from Windward Beach are available for SummerFest nights. They begin running at 5 p.m. from Drum Point Elementary School, Veterans Memorial Middle School, Midstreams Elementary School, Lanes Mill Elementary School and Brick Township High School. Return trips begin about 8 p.m. and continue until everyone has been delivered to the shuttle parking.

The concerts have a food court with food, treats and desserts, and the beer and wine garden returns for those who are 21 or older. You must bring a valid photo ID for entry into the wine garden.

Those attending SummerFest are allowed to bring food in coolers but alcohol is not permitted in bags or coolers.
