A Toms River man is facing drunk driving charges in connection with a single-car, fatal accident that resulted in the death of one of his passengers.
Kenneth Fonseca, 23, has been charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while his license was suspended, and causing death while driving with a suspended license, state police told NJ.com in a report.
The accident, which occurred at 4:18 a.m. Sunday morning in Brick, claimed the life of Britzi Flores, 22, also of Toms River, the NJ.com report said.
Fonseca and two other passengers, identified as Jose Flores and Jessenia Morales, both 23, of Lakewood, were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment.
Fonseca is now being lodged in the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. According to jail records, Fonseca is a native of Costa Rica and is being held on an immigration detainer.
