A 19-Year-Old Charged With DWI
The teenager is charged with driving while intoxicated, but police say it is difficult to charge with underage drinking.
A 19-year-old was charged with driving while intoxicated, but was not cited for underage drinking because where he was drinking cannot be proven, according to police.
Lucas Waldburger, of Basking Ridge, was also charged with failure to maintain a lane, having an obstructed rear license plate, failure to exhibit documents and having an uninsured motor vehicle after he was pulled over while driving on Route 22 East Nov. 28.
But he did not receive a charge for underage drinking—law does not allow those under 21 years of age to receive alcohol—because police do not know exactly where he was drinking.

"We can't prove where he was drinking underage, Bridgewater, or some other town," said Bridgewater Township Police Lt. Al Nicaretta. "Charges would have to be filed in the town he was drinking in."
Aside from this, police made arrests for other DWI offenses and for shoplifting between Nov. 24 and Nov. 28.
