Tennis Event Held at Green Knoll Tennis Center

Have you ever wondered how fast you can smack a ball (that is a “serve” in tennis terms)? If you were at the team tennis event held on Sept. 15 at the Green Knoll Tennis Center, you would have had the opportunity to test it out. This was just the icing on the cake of a great event.

The 4th Team Tennis event was organized by Bridgewater resident Leslie van Dorn. For years, Leslie has been organizing tennis groups of approximately 40 people for friendly games on a weekly basis during the outdoor season. By spring of 2011, the tennis fanatics wanted more. Leslie and her friends knew exactly what to do: a one-day fun team competition.

Four teams of six players competed in men’s, women’s and mixed doubles. They were cheered by adoring fans. Total game scores were tallied to determine the winning team.
