Bridgewater, NJ Tree Recovery Campaign Distributing Free Tree Saplings to Residents

Tree seedlings to replace any trees damaged or destroyed by Superstorm Sandy will be given away on a first come, first served basis.

As part of an ongoing effort to replant trees damaged or destroyed by Superstorm Sandy, Bridgewater and the New Jersey Tree Recovery Campaign will be offering free sapling giveaways beginning later this month.

Tree seedlings will be distributed on Monday, April 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bridgewater Township Senior Citizens Center, 455 Somerville Road. Seedlings will be available on a first come, first served basis, according to Bridgewater Township. Instructions on how to store, care for and plant them will be provided.

Residents should plant the seedlings within two days after pick-up in order to prevent the roots from drying out.
