Bridgewater Twp. Council Candidates To Go Head-To-Head In General Election This November

Now that primary has come and gone, voters can look ahead to a contested race this coming November for the Bridgewater Township Council.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Now that the primary has come and gone, voters can look ahead to a contested race this coming November for the Bridgewater Township Council.

The Council races for Republicans and Democrats were both uncontested in the primary election, with three Republicans and three Democrats filing to run.

Now the three Republicans and three Democrats will go head to head for the three open seats on the Council in the general election.

The Republican candidates include incumbents Allen Kurdyla and Filipe Pedroso, along with newcomer Megan Moench.

The Democratic candidates include Ridwana Isla, Joan Geiger, and Andrew Bucko.

Currently, the Bridgewater Township Council is made up entirely of Republicans.

Additionally, there will also be some contested Somerset County and legislative races, including (*denotes incumbent):

Somerset County Board of County Commissioners:

  • Melonie Marano - Democrat*
  • Nick Cuozzo - Republican

Somerset County Sheriff:

  • Darrin Russo - Democrat*
  • Michael Manochio - Republican

Somerset County Surrogate:

  • Bernice "Tina" Jalloh - Democrat*
  • John L. Sweeney - Republican

New Jersey Legislative District 23 House of Representatives:

  • John DiMaio - Republican*
  • Erik Peterson - Republican*
  • Guy Citron - Democrat
  • Tyler Powell - Democrat

The New Jersey general election is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
