Cat Rescued In Bridgewater House Fire On Friday: Officials

Volunteer firefighters in Bridgewater rescued a cat from a burning home Friday afternoon, officials said.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Volunteer firefighters in Bridgewater were able to successfully rescue a cat from a burning home Friday afternoon, officials said.

The blaze, reported shortly after noon on Sycamore Avenue, stemmed from a fire on the deck of the home, the Bradley Gardens Volunteer Fire Company said in a statement. At the scene, firefighters confirmed a working fire with extension to the rear of the residence.

“Squad 21’s crew arrived and stretched a 1 3/4” attack line to the rear of the residence while also establishing a permanent water supply,” fire officials said, adding that firefighters were able to hold off the main body of the fire with water cans, thus preventing the fire from reaching into the attic space.
