Do it Yourself This Weekend

This is the weekend for the do-it-yourself person. Those who want to make their homes better; who enjoy doing projects. If that's you, we have a number of possibilities for you this weekend. But if that's not you, don't worry: we have other options as well.

1. Woodworking and D.I.Y. Show
Where/When: Garden State Exhibit Center (Somerset); Friday, noon-6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Why Go: Advertised as the region's largest gathering for woodworkers and do-it-yourself enthusiasts, this is the place to go if that's up your alley.

2. Meet George Washington
Where/When: ; Saturday, 2-3:30 p.m.
Why Go: OK, so it's not the real George Washington. But reenactor Bill Agress will be playing the part, and since Presidents Day just went by, this is a good time to have some fun with history.

3. Build and Grow Clinic
Where/When:Lowe's in Hillsborough (315 Route 206); Saturday, 10 a.m.
Why Go: Children (and adults) can learn how to build a pull-back race car. Register here.

4. High-Flying Circus Acts
Where/When: Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College (Branchburg); Friday and Saturday, 7 p.m.
Why Go: Dubbed "46 Circus Acts in 45 Minutes," this promises to be something you've never seen before. The production is from Australia.

5. Unstoppable
Where/When: ; Friday, 7-9 p.m.
Why Go: It's a free movie featuring the talent of Denzel Washington. Sounds like a good deal, doesn't it?
