ICYMI: Bridgewater Crime - See The Latest Data

The Department of Law and Public Safety has released the latest crime data in its Uniform Crime Report.

The Department of Law and Public Safety recently released the 2013 Uniform Crime Report (UCR), which shows crime data for the state and municipalities.

The report, which was released on Friday, April 17, showed Bridgewater had a increase in violent crime in 2013 from 2012. The township, however, had a decrease in non-violent crime in 2013, compared to the previous year.

The Department of Law and Public Safety’s report indicated New Jersey’s overall crime rate decreased by seven percent in 2013, compared to 2012, according to a press release from the department.

Bridgewater reported 16 violent crimes in 2013, up from 13 in 2012, and the violent crime rate per 1,000 people increased from 0.3 to 0.4, the report said. The township saw an decrease in non-violent crime, from 659 in 2012 to 539 in 2013. The non-violent crime rate per 1,000 decreased, from 14.7 in 2012 to 12.0 in 2013.
