Manufacturing Site Proposed For Ex-Bridgewater Office Building: Report

A Piscataway-based developer is set to propose a manufacturing facility in Bridgewater at the planning board's next meeting, per a report.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - A Piscataway-based developer is set to propose a manufacturing facility in Bridgewater at the planning board’s next meeting, per a MyCentral Jersey report.

The applicant, M&M at 206 LLC, initially submitted a plan to construct a 211,540-square-foot warehouse at 721 Route 202-206, though those plans would’ve required an additional use variance as warehouses aren’t permitted in the zone, per My Central Jersey.

Instead, M&M at 206 LLC’s newest proposal consists of a 230,226-square-foot building (219,292 square feet for manufacturing and 10,934 square feet of office space), the report says, adding that a settlement between the township and the applicant states that a maximum of 300,000 square feet of warehouses and 30,000 square feet of restaurant and retail development is permitted. Also permitted are research facilities, medical offices and a drive-thru restaurant.

The current 192,741-square-foot office space was formerly the site of an Allstate Insurance outpost and a law firm, Norris McLaughlin have both since moved elsewhere, the report said.

The Bridgewater Planning Board is slated to hear the application on Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. in the municipal complex council chambers.
