Meet the School Board's Newest Members
You didn't miss an election: these student reps were chosen by advisors at Bridgewater-Raritan High School.

The Bridgewater-Raritan Board of Education meeting Monday included updates on recent events and happenings at Bridgewater-Raritan High School from a different perspective: the board's four new student representatives offered their updates to start the meeting.
Sarah Malek, Sahil Memrota, Shivani Sampathkumar and Leah Watson joined as the board's reps for the 2013-14 school year.
The students also offered brief bios, that included their other activities at the school:
- Sarah is co-captain of the Forensic Debate team, on the Youth Council and runs the 400-meter hurdles on the school's track team;
- Sahil is on officer in the school's National Honor Society chapter, and is a member of the BRTV crew;
- Shivani is also a member of the BRTV crew, and an officer in the school anti-substance abuse group SHARE;
- Leah is a member of the varsity field hockey team, Student Council president, a member of the Lifeskills club and co-leader of the Council for Exceptional Children.
Board President Patrick Breslin told the students their had one requirement for their tenure on the board.
"The rules of the game are this: we need your reports, but we also recognize your student responsibilities," he said. "There's no problem with ducking out a little early."
The students stayed until the end of the meeting, presumably having finished all their homework earlier.
