Missing Elderly Woman Found Dead in Somerset County

Anita Cupo, who suffered from dementia, was reported missing on Thursday, May 7.

An elderly woman who was reported missing on Thursday of last week was found dead in her vehicle later that day, according to published reports.

Anita Cupo, 78, was found shortly before 5 p.m. dead in her vehicle in Franklin Township, according to a report from NJ.com.

Franklin Township Police officers located Cupo in the parking lot of a local shopping mall, located at 940 Easton Ave., the report said. The 78-year-old woman was pronounced dead by responding paramedics shortly at 5 p.m., according to the report.

Police said there was no indications of foul play.

A silver alert was issued on Thursday, May 7, after Cupo, who police said suffered from dementia, was last seen early that morning at 119 Elizabeth St., in South Bound Brook, New Jersey State Police said. Authorities said she may have been driving a black Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV.
