Pa. Woman Indicted for Using Fake ID to Buy Jewelry

Grand Jury indicts Ashia Byrd, 29, on four charges stemming from Aug. 2 incident.

A North Cumberland, Pa., woman was indicted Wednesday after she allegedly tried to use a fake driver's license to buy jewelry valued at $7,983, according to a report posted on MyCentralJersey.com

The post said Ashia Byrd, 29, faces impersonation, attempted theft by deception, forgery and uttering a forged document charges in connection to the Aug. 2 incident at Kay Jewelers, in the Bridgewater Commons.

Police had charged Byrd after she used a driver's license and personal information belonging to another woman to submit a credit application at the store to purchase three watches and two rings.

She left the store when Kay employees asked for more identification, but was stopped by mall security, who turned her over to Bridgewater police.
