Park Avenue Resident Says He Caused Home Fire

Fire started in basement when clothing fell under a heater.

Park Avenue resident William Vincent reportedly said he accidentally caused the fire that damaged the basement of his home, Thursday, according to reports on NJ.com.

The report noted Vincent said he knocked over a pile of clothes that ended up under a heater while working in his basement. He attempted to put the fire out himself, receiving burns in the process, before area fire companies responded.

The house has been determined to be uninhabitable because of extensive smoke damage.
