Park Foundation Announces 'A Tasting for the Somerset County Park Foundation'
The event will be held Wednesday, Sept. 28 with unique whiskeys, gourmet chocolates and fine wines.

The Somerset County Park Foundation has announced that “A Tasting for the Somerset County Park Foundation” is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 28 from 6-9 p.m. at Neshanic Valley Golf Course, 2301 South Branch Rd., in Neshanic Station.
“A Tasting” will feature an array of hand-picked American whiskeys, Irish whiskeys and Scotch whiskeys, complemented by a selection of fine wines, gourmet chocolates and cigars. Experts will be on hand to explain the chocolate and wine pairings.

The tasting selections will be accompanied by hors d’oeuvres, select food stations, fine wine, beer and conversation. A smoking area will be on the outdoor deck, overlooking the golf course.
Reservations are available at $125 per person. A golf/tasting package is available that includes 18-hole greens fees and a tee time at the Neshanic Valley Championship course prior to the tasting for an additional fee of $25.

Sponsorship packages are available from $1,000 to $2,500 and include signage at the event and mention in the tasting booklet.
“A Tasting” will benefit the Somerset County Park Foundation that provides funding and support to the Somerset County Park Commission. Among the primary recipients of the Foundation’s efforts is the Therapeutic Recreation Program, a cooperative effort between the Park Commission and 16 municipalities that provides year-round recreation opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. Programs include Camp Okee Sunokee, a six-week day camp for children age 6 to 14 with learning disabilities or Asperger's Syndrome; Summer Adventure, a two-week summer program for high school teens and young adults, ages 14-21; Kid Connection, a year-round program for children ages 7-13 with a developmental disability; teen and adult programs, featuring a variety of social, cultural, artistic, culinary, sports, fitness, community outings, horticulture and overnight trips, and T.R.A.I.L.S., an adapted horseback riding program.
