"It's a project that you all know has been going on for years now. One that has touched a lot of roads. Probably approximately 18 miles worth of roadways have had new gas mains installed," said Bridgewater Township Engineer Bill Burr. "Frankly, it's a treatment in PSE&G and their investment in improving the infrastructure in town to provide safe gas service for our residents."
Wrapping up the project, PSE&G announced they expect to begin final milling and paving work in the Country Club Road and Van Holten area on Monday, June 23.

PSE&G Project Timeline
Since March 2023, PSE&G has completed four total projects in Bridgewater Township for a total of 20.2 miles of gas main replacement and about 1,010 service replacements, said PSE&G Project Manager Tyler Keefe.
The first project started in March 2023 in the Vosseller Avenue area with 4.8 miles of gas main replaced and 263 services.
The second project in the Foothill Road and North Bridge Street area included 6.7 miles of gas main replacement and 315 services.
The third project in the Stella Drive, Copper Hill Way area included 3.4 miles of gas main replacement and 167 services.
The fourth project started in March 2024 and was completed in April 2025 which included 5.4 miles of gas main replacement and 265 services in the Country Club Road and Van Holten area.
"Benefits include the immediate reduction of leaks because our program targets the aging, leaking gas infrastructure and replaces it with plastic," said Keefe.
Additionally, Keefe said the projects reduce methane emissions, enhance safety and reliability to prevent future gas leaks, and move gas meters from inside the home to outside for safety and emergency access.
