A new grocery store and convenience mart with a gas station are seeking to come to Route 202, according to planning documents.

BRANCHBURG, NJ — A new grocery store and convenience mart with an adjacent gas station are seeking to come to Somerset County, according to planning documents.
ALDI, Inc. has submitted plans for a 19,053-square-foot grocery store in Branchburg on Route 202 and Old York Road in September (resubmitted in November), according to documents from the township's Environmental Commission meeting on Wednesday.
The application proposed to subdivide the current lot into two separate lots, with ALDI’s proposed 4.5-acre lot leaving a remaining 19.82 acres open for another applicant or applicants. An application for a 5,670-square-foot QuickChek store and adjacent gas station at the same intersection was reviewed in December, per meeting documents.
