Somerset Court Worker Stole $135K From Colleague Minutes After She Died

Dennis Lordi pleaded guilty to 2013 crime Tuesday morning; faces probation, report says.

MORRISTOWN, N.J. – An Old Bridge Township man formerly employed as a worker in the Somerset County Superior Court admitted to stealing more than $135,000 from a colleague’s retirement fund just minutes after learning the victim had died in a car crash.

Dennis Lordi pleaded guilty to one count of theft by deception Tuesday morning in Superior Court in Morristown – the case was moved there from Somerset County – and admitted to the crime that took place in July 2013, dailyrecord.com reported.

Lordi, 60, said he received information his colleague, Donna Dilullo, was in a car crash, then accessed the victim’s deferred compensation/retirement account through Prudential, pretended to be Dilullo, and transferred $135,517 into his own account, the report said.
