Tractor-Trailer Crashes Into Pole, Guard Rail On I-287 In Bridgewater

The crash happened early Thursday morning.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A tractor-trailer lost control and crashed on Interstate 287 in Bridgewater on Thursday morning.

New Jersey State Police(NJSP) Troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash at 2:35 a.m. on I-287 North at milepost 14.4 in Bridgewater Township.

Based on a preliminary investigation, a Freightliner tractor-trailer was driving north when the driver lost directional control and veered off the road to the right, striking a utility pole and guardrail, said NJSP Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron.

No injuries were reported. The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information is available at this time.

Finderne Fire Department and Bradley Gardens Rescue Squad also came to help at the crash. Both departments are made up of volunteers. If interested in volunteering click on their names for more information.
