The description said, "All donations will go directly to help cover medical bills, mental health counseling, lost income, recovery expenses, his 2 year old daughter Mia and daily living needs as they navigate the road ahead. No one should have to endure this kind of pain alone."
Roseland Mayor James Spango had said, "At approximately 4 p.m., a motor vehicle accident occurred involving a Roseland police officer. The Borough asks that you keep the officer and his family in your thoughts and prayers."
Spango said the accident occurred at Livingston Avenue and Becker Farm Road. Several roads cross near that intersection (see photo above).
Other police identified the officer as Mark Miller and said his injuries "have left the family facing unimaginable emotional and financial hardship."
Spango said in a followup message to the public that Miller had undergone surgery and was still in the hospital.
“Surgery was successfully performed on the involved officer Friday night," he said. "Although the officer's condition is improving, it is still serious. The
Borough would like to thank the community for their outpouring of support."
