Cops Looking for Suspicious Man Who Offered Ride to Juvenile

Cops say the white male is about 6-feet with a medium build, brown hair with a receding hairline, and an accent believed to be Russian.

The Caldwell Police Department is investigating a report of a suspicious man in his 40s who asked an underage girl if she wanted a ride on Bloomfield Avenue last week.

The suspicious incident reportedly occurred on Sunday, March 16, at approximately 2:45 p.m., cops said Monday.

That's when a juvenile female says she was walking east on Bloomfield Avenue in the area of 494 Bloomfield Ave. She told cops that she noticed an older model white sedan with significant wear driving slowly behind her.

The vehicle then turned into the parking lot next to 494 Bloomfield Avenue, the girl told cops.

The girl told cops that a white male, approximately 6-feet tall, medium build, brown hair with a receding hairline, wearing glasses, approximately 40 years of age with an accent believed to be Russian exited the vehicle and approached her.

The male was wearing a black windbreaker jacket and black pants, police said Monday. 

When the male approached her, he asked her twice if she wanted a ride.

The girl fled east on Bloomfield Avenue and the male party got back into his vehicle and left the area.
