Fraud Arrest In The Caldwells; Check Deposited In PA, Police Say
Police in the Caldwells recently arrested an Essex County man in connection with a case of check fraud.
CALDWELLS, NJ — Police in the Caldwells recently arrested an Essex County man in connection with a case of check fraud.
The West Caldwell Police Department released some details about the arrest last week:
“On March 31, 2023, a Caldwell resident reported a stolen and altered check from the mail that was cashed by an unidentified individual. Thanks to the diligent efforts of Det. Kazoun, it was discovered that the check was deposited into an ATM in Pennsylvania by a male later identified as Wahid Floyd, 30, of Newark.”
Floyd was charged with uttering a forged document and theft, police reported.
