Girl Scout Cookies Now Available Online

The Girl Scouts of America on Monday announced the creation of the Digital Cookie platform for online cookie sales.

It’s good news for your sweet tooth but bad news for your waistline: now you can get your Thin Mints and Samoas delivered to your doorstep with the click of a button.

The Girl Scouts of America on Monday announced it has approved online sales for their beloved cookies, which were traditionally always sold in-person by adorable scouts.

The organization, which aims to empower millions of girls across the country by teaching them various life lessons, is adding digital marketing to the list of skills members can learn. The new platform will be called “Digital Cookie” and it begins this month in a limited number of areas, the New York Times reported.

By January, digital cookie sales should be available nationwide.

“For almost a century, the Girl Scout Cookie Program has been teaching girls to be leaders in the world of business and finance, and we intend to ensure that legacy continues in the digital age,” said Anna Maria Chávez, CEO of Girl Scouts USA. “Digital Cookie is a game-changer for Girl Scouts, and a quantum leap forward in the evolution of the cookie program.”

You’ll still need to get in contact with your scouting neighbor or coworker’s daughter—the Digital Cookie website will require an email invitation, encouraging the girls to build client lists, according to the organization.

Plus, Girls Scouts and their caregivers will need to take an Internet safety pledge before using Digital Cookie. “Girls using the mobile platform will adhere to the same safety standards as those participating in traditional Girl Scout Cookie sales,” the organization said.
