Ice Skating OK At Grover Cleveland Park In Essex County This Weekend

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — The chilly winter weather in Essex County has been rough this week. But it also has its benefits: ice skating.
According to a post from Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo Jr., ice skating will be open this weekend at Grover Cleveland Park. The park is located in Caldwell and Essex Fells. Visitors should bring their own skates.
Skating on the pond will be open on the following days, DiVincenzo said (depending on the weather):

- Friday, Jan. 10 – 3 to 8 p.m.
- Saturday, Jan. 11 – 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Sunday, Jan. 12 – 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
It’s worth noting that other nearby ponds and skating sites may not be open this weekend.
On Friday, the Essex Fells Police Department issued a warning to stay off the ice at Essex Fells Pond due to “unsafe conditions” and potentially thin ice.

“Signs posted at the pond will advise if and when skating is permitted at a later date,” police said.
