Retired Fed Officer Opens Expedia Cruises Franchise In West Caldwell

WEST CALDWELL, NJ — A retired federal law enforcement officer has launched a new career as the owner of a new Expedia Cruises franchise in West Caldwell.

Yvette Tay-Taylor is a lifelong native of the greater New York City area, having spent her whole life in both the city and North Jersey. She began a career as a federal officer with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, formerly known as U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service, having spent a total of 27 years in federal law enforcement.

After retiring in 2022, Tay-Taylor embraced her passion for travel, picking up a new vocation as a vacation consultant with Expedia Cruises. It was a job that suited her personality – and led to a desire to own her own franchise.

“Since the beginning of my law enforcement career, I have always been someone who has stepped in to help plan vacations for family and friends and working as a consultant, and now a franchisee just feels like a calling,” Tay-Taylor said.

“I love the idea of being able to connect with people one-on-one to make sure everyone is getting as much out of their vacation as they can,” she added.

She will get the chance to make this dream a reality at the new Expedia Cruises location at 885 Bloomfield Avenue in West Caldwell, which has a total of 18 consultants available. The new center is set to host a grand opening celebration on Sept. 14. The celebration will kick off with a ribbon cutting with the North Essex Chamber of Commerce, and will feature other travel vendors.
