Where's The Weed? Where To Find Cannabis In Essex County

Never mind "Where's the Beef?" Cannabis consumers are looking for weed, but won't find legal marijuana everywhere, despite NJ approvals.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Nearly 40 years ago, actress Clara Peller appeared in Wendy's ads asking, "Where's the beef?" But a year after legal recreational cannabis sales were expected to begin in New Jersey, some are asking, "Where's the weed?"

While dispensaries have opened their doors in towns like Maplewood, Montclair, and Bloomfield, places like Hoboken and Jersey City have approved medical and recreational dispensaries, only to see them delayed by lawsuits and other roadblocks.

Medical marijuana was approved in New Jersey in 2010, and recreational in 2021.
