Athletics, Fairs and Meetings in the Chathams

Your weekly round-up of all the things you may have missed in the Chathams this week.

Sports are in full swing in Chatham this week, and we've got the latest on the varsity teams, as well as from the township and borough boards. Here we offer the Week In Review:

On Monday we told you about the men's soccer team, which tied Whippany Park in their game last Saturday.  We also told you about the Chatham House Concert that Ted Pitney played at his cousin Doug's house in the township on Sunday. We also brought you photos of the mural of the Great Swamp that members of the Art League of the Chathams are painting on the side of the Township Municipal Building.

Tuesday we brought you a photo gallery from the Green Fair, which met with resounding success in Reasoner Park last Saturday. We also told you about the , which will be sold and the revenues made available for the 2011 budget. We also told you about Borough resident Sally Myers, who pleaded with the Borough Council to install more sidewalks in her neighborhood near Watchung and Girard Avenues.

On Wednesday we told you about the Chatham women's soccer team defeat of Dover on Tuesday. We also told you about revisions to the indictment against accused murderer Jose Feliciano, which the grand jury gave up on Tuesday. Thursday we told you about the borough Planning Board approving waivers for an indoor tennis court and a Gymboree facility. We also told you about the Chatham volleyball team topping Morris Catholic in two straight games, and about the men's soccer game against Hanover Park was canceled due to rain. We also told you about an alleged drunk driver arrested early Thursday morning on Watchung Avenue.

On Friday we told you about the tennis team's game against Parsippany, the second in a week that was rained out. We also brought you a photo gallery of the women's soccer team's game against Hanover Park, which was rained out 25 minutes into the first half. We also told you about Chatham resident and Congressional candidate Douglas Herbert, who spoke at a senior center in Montville on the importance of voter participation. We also told you about the field hockey team, which played a shut out game against Boonton Friday afternoon.
