Car Stolen From Chatham Twp. Driveway Friday: Cops

Authorities are asking anyone with information to call police immediately.

Chatham Twp., N.J. – A Chatham Township homeowner told police Friday his vehicle was stolen right from his driveway.

Chatham Township Police Chief Steven Hennelly said Officer Giordano responded to a Yarmouth Road home Friday after the resident reported the theft of his vehicle.

The 2015 Jeep was taken from the driveway sometime after midnight, Hennelly said. The owner reported leaving the key fob inside the vehicle overnight.

Anyone with information is asked to call Chatham Township police immediately.

Police are also reminding resident to always lock their car doors, remove the key fob and keys from the vehicle, park in a well-lit area at night, never leave anything of value in plain sight inside the vehicle, don’t leave purses or wallets in the vehicle, and put valuables in the trunk.
