Chatham Borough Extends Playing Time Hours at Lum Field

The Borough authorized temporary lights and extended hours at Lum Field due to snow on other fields.

The Borough of Chatham authorized on March 9 the use of temporary lights and extended playing time hours at Lum Field due to snow accumulation on other fields in the area.

Portable and temporary light units will be used at Lum Field for organized sports on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 6:55 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., between March 13 until April 9, according to the Borough of Chatham.

Representatives from the Chatham Recreation Sports Programs advised the Borough Council that Lum Field was the only field available for the start of spring sports programs, the borough said. The representatives said natural turf fields in the borough will be out of service for longer than expected because of snow accumulation.
